    Default Squeal of Fortune

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been created already. My first thoughts of squeal of fortune was 'Why are they giving out free xp' but I wasn't too fussed as each player only got two spins a day. Now that you can buy the squeal of fortune tickets I believe if it's not removed the game isn't going to last much longer. The game isn't based on how dedicated and determined you are to get your skills up, it's based on how rich you are. Right now I feel the same way as I did when they removed the wildy and free trade. Maybe I am being a little dramatic but at the end of the day I know if i was rich and could splash the cash I'd prefer to buy a skill in xp lamps which may take me an hour to redeem rather than sitting on runescape for 6 odd hours to get the same xp. It's a real shame, I did think Jagex was making great improvements with the game and was excited for the future updates.

What annoys me the most about this update is Jagex told us in previous speeches from runefest events etc that if they don't take action against real world trading it would hurt the game greatly yet they bring out updates like this. Double standards much? I'm really not sure what I'm going to do with my account at the moment, I think I just wont play and see how things pan out. Hopefully they'll remove the squeal of fortune so you can't buy tickets for real life cash. I think Jagex know this update is going to cause uproar as if you read the source below they don't seem to mention anything about purchasing the squeal of fortune tokens, it almost looks like they are trying to keep it on the DL.

Thoughts? PLEASE LET THIS BE A LATE APRIL FOOLS JOKE

Not sure how its really buying exp

I've spun the wheel twice a day since it came out, and I rarely get lamps (of any value anyway). I think I've had maybe 2 medium lamps, and the rest smalls (about 10 maybe)?

Its really not making a difference tbh. You're getting so little exp from these lamps, I don't see the problem.

I think the wheel is good. The chance of getting rare items is low, so I don't think its disrupting anything at all.

You're not getting little xp lol

Per day only doing 2 spins I get 3-15k+ xp every day basically

So with the ability to buy like 75 spins at a time that's alot of xp

They nerfed effigies as they effected the xp rates as people hoarded them, now they're selling xp for $, nice.

Good thing i did quit lol

I have no idea what this is as I dont play anymore, but if they're giving away lots of xp then surely theres a problem and it should be removed?

This is quite stupid. As a day one thing, fine but as something permanent then that's just stupid. People are going to spend money on tokens and just start gaining a ton of xp.

Not many people liking this, some even rioting, lol!!!

omustardo put a vid up on his channel of him doing 75 spins in a few minutes and worked out that on average, if you dump a bunch of irl cash on spins (I expect suomi will be taking paypal donations!) it's about 800k exp/hr.

Not one of the best moves jagex has made. I expect lamp rewards will be nerfed soon enough but I don't really care either way as I don't play to compete with people. If they want to spend their irl bank on rs exp then let them... at least the money is going to jagex and not chinese gold farmers.
