    Default Rick Santorum drops out of the Republican race

    US election 2012: Rick Santorum bows out, clearing way for Mitt Romney

    Rick Santorum, the former US senator, has bowed out of the party's presidential nomination race, clearing Mitt Romney's path to challenge Barack Obama in November's general election.

    Quote Originally Posted by Telegraph

"While this presidential race is over for me," he told a press conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, "we are not done fighting. We are going to continue to fight for those Americans who stood up and gave us air under our wings". Mr Santorum's departure, announced at the site of the 1863 rout of the confederate army that became a turning point in the American Civil War, saves him from the humiliation of likely defeat to Mr Romney in his home state's primary later this month, and keeps alive his hopes of another White House bid in the future.

    Mr Romney, who has already turned his focus to Mr Obama, said Mr Santorum was an "able and worthy competitor" who had "proven himself to be an important voice in our party and in the nation", adding: "I congratulate him on the campaign he ran". After months of bitter infighting Mr Santorum notably did not endorse Mr Romney.
    Well, it pretty much does look like Romney is going to win the nomination hands down from the face of it. I'm still hopeful that the Ron Paul campaign 'delegate strategy' is successful either in an outright way or can go some way to influencing policy or having Ron Paul or Rand Paul as VP - but again, i'm not going to make outright brash predictions or be too optimistic as I really don't know what the outcome will be in the end come the convention/end of the race. I have to say though, that pictures like this (if indeed genuine) of apparent offical GOP documents do give me great hope whilst at the same time being outright disgusting, bordering on electoral fraud;

    Either way, if it does turn out to be Romney vs Obama - it will make absolutely no difference who wins. The two candidates are both funded by the likes of Goldman Sachs, they both support bailouts to large corporations, they both support unconstitutional wars, they both support an out of control federal government which ignores the constitution and lectures states on what to do - all of which costs a heck of a lot of money. With $15tn of debt, it doesn't look good for the United States.

    But the real revolution continues...
