Say If I buy something of a site and the products in $'s could you still buy the item with a UK card? what would happen?
You can still buy from foreign websites on a UK card, it works exactly the same way and some companys convert free of charges, other companies do charge for a conversion fee though (This will be in the companys terms and conditions) but in all yes you can, see if the company accepts payment via paypal though as it wont cost you any extra
Most websites I've used with my credit card just convert the $ to £. I haven't noticed any fee for doing this, but I think like alex said, some websites do.
Eg if somethings was on sale for $10, you pay (random number) £8.

can people stop using the word credit card when they obviously mean debit card.
It will just convert it too UK pounds or whatever currency you have.![]()
