[Olympics] New Sport - Ends 27th June

I recently saw a documentary on new events added to the olympics in the past few years such as BMX and some of the other sports are pretty extraordinary. It made me think how do people come up with some events, like how did something come up with the concept of fencing and why is it called fencing?!? Anyway, I want to see what events you can come up with so, make up and describe a new event and come up with a name for it!

The most creative and viable entry will win!

jelly swimming - swim through a pool of jelly, you can eat some to help you get through

kite flying.. sounds a bit daft but yeah it could be good for the not so sporty people, who can get their kite the highest haha.

The 100m custard egg race - where competitors must run 100m on a swimming pool full of custard whilst carrying an egg on a spoon.

Launch high, basically it's a Seris of trampolines place randomly (but safely) in the center of the stadium. Basically each team will have to compete on the trampolines whilst hoping from one to another, they have foam swords to knock each other off (into water) Last man/woman standing wins!

Don't Touch The Floor Dance-Off! Basically, there is a dance floor located in the middle of the stadium (stadium is set up like a nightclub) and it's basically the last man dancing wins. Also if you touch the floor you are out. There will also be obstacles thrown in to the arena so before the event the olympiads would be training to avoid those obstacles (i.e bouncy balls, tomatoes etc.) It would be very fun!

Foot-Basket: Abit like hockey.

Worm Race - All competitors lay down on there front facing the finish line they have to do the worm down a 100 meter strip. They must stay in there lane or be disqualified.

spaghetti race - so 2 people have the ends of the piece of spaghetti and they have to race to the middle of the spaghetti by eating it. there will be a marker on the spaghetti as to where the middle is and the first person to get there by eating it will be the winner of the race.

I think a good Olympic sport would be Poohsticks - the game that Winnie the Pooh and friends play in the books by A.A. Milne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poohsticks)!! Athletes would stand on one side of a bridge and throw their sticks over the edge downstream; the stick that reaches the finish line first is the winner! It's a game that I used to play as a child with my parents, and probably still would if the opportunity arose!
