People dont want all sites to look the same they want it to be something different what they have never seen before. Once you have achieved this people will remember your site and keep coming back .. But then people willl start stealing your ideas so it will end up starting over again :d

a nice layout always help. Refrain from using a downloaded one. Try doing it yourself no one can have a go at you then. Apart from Mike but he could have a go at a toothbrush ;')
