    Hey

Just wondered if there is any H. P. Lovecraft fans out there. For the last few months, well quite a while, I have been reading a collection of short stories by Lovecraft. I found it hard to get into a first but glad I did as some of the stuff is pretty amazing. I'd have to say The Festival is one of my favourites so far, the images of the nethermost caverns I got from reading it was something indescribable and the whisper in the dark was another great.

I really like how he created his own universe and how he used his dislike for the overuse of gothic horror to create many sc-fi stories that have a very modern day feel. It's also very evident to see his influence - Arkham being used in Batman for example.

I'm currently reading The Shadow Over Innsmouth then I will be moving on to in the At the Mountains of Madness which I've heard is one of his best.

Hate to bump my own post but just finished At The Mountains of Madness and wasn't let down. Been avoiding seeing Promethus before I finished after reading the two are very similar.
