Quick q. How do you lot spell each of these words?

    1)
    Gray or Grey

    2)
    Traveled or Travelled

    3)
    Nosey or Nosy

    4)
    Yoghurt or Yogurt

They're all correct spellings, it's just American English vs British English again apart from 3). I spell it Nosey but apparently it's Nosy, "Nosey" is just a bad translation apparently? So yeah, how do you spell each one - I have never spelt "Grey" as "Gray" in my life and apparently they're 2 different colours according to... Hex values? idk what it's called.

Saying that, I don't think 4) is US vs UK - I'm sure that's translation as well but Yogurt is more common in America. Mine:

    Grey
    Traveled
    Nosey
    Yoghurt.

    * The bolded words are American English.

Americans basically simplified the language and I refuse to ever accept it.

Gray is the surname of one of my friends.
    Traveled is just wrong.
Nosy is acceptable; I don't use nosey/nosy a lot but I prefer it with the E.
Yogurt, although american, is now becoming popular in the UK - supermarkets sell them as yogurts now.

Also, did you know the word hiccough is the original/correct spelling of the word hiccup - they are both pronounced the same.

Really at the last point? LMAO. That's great.

+ Ikr about the whole "Yogurt" business in the UK, it's annoying me so much tbh. Here's the reason why the UK, NZ and AU tend to use it with a h:

The English equivalent of the Turkish 'g' has traditionally been 'gh' and, along with New Zealand and Australia, Britain has mostly retained the 'gh' spelling.
Found an article (from 2009) snip about it becoming Yogurt in the UK. The reason is just insane:

Telegraph.co.uk reports on a spelling controversy:
To the dismay of traditionalists, more manufacturers and retailers have have been using the Americanised spelling of yogurt that drops the letter 'h'.
But producers have defended the move, saying the British spelling of yoghurt is now outdated and should reflect the industry changes.
Ok, so let's all stop using "alas" and "thus" now if supposedly 'outdated' words deserve to be edited? It's ridiculous. They'll be asking us to say "color" next.

I predict that British English will slowly become more and more Americanised in the future; America seems to be leading the world, the internet (Facebook, etc.) and the media. All the big celebrities come from or move to America. Foreign people who learn English as a second language often learn American English. I can't say I like this change, but it shouldn't be forgotten that language is constantly evolving, adapting and standardising. Years ago, America and England wouldn't have any need to standardise, but since the internet has become so wide-spread and communication between countries is so easy, standardisation has started to happen whether we like it or not.
