EU Commissioner will ignore any rejection of ACTA By European Parliment

If you decide for a negative vote before the European Court rules, let me tell you that the Commission will nonetheless continue to pursue the current procedure before the Court, as we are entitled to do. A negative vote will not stop the proceedings before the Court of Justice.

So this is why they don't want lessons on democracy... Got to love how most of these people probably barely even use the internet let alone understand what this would impose. The fact they just blatantly say they will completely ignore the only form of say were directly given is just ludicrous.

Couldn't agree more, it now seems that the Parliament is the EU's puppet to feign democracy whilst unelected officials force through any laws they wish.

It wasn't all too long ago that we had a member on this forum who constantly argued with me that the European Union was good for this country and that when I said the EU was undemocratic, I was wrong because it had an elected parliament. Well sure enough, here's another example to show that this is anything but a parliament - indeed thats why Margaret Thatcher often refused to call it that and instead called it an 'assembly' because the only function it carries out is one of an advisory body to the unelected European Commission. The truth is, the EU will never and can never have an elected parliament with any real power because that would risk the people overturning 'the project' and we can't have that now, can we? (hence why they overturn or ignore referendum results).

What else do you expect? The European Commission is the least democratic part of the entire European system. They do what they want to do, sod what the common, ordinary people want.
