    Default Buying credits...

    Hi.

What is everyone's opinion on buying/people who buy credits? I don't get why a lot seem to have this idea that it's "silly" to do so. I personally haven't done it in a very long time and probably won't in the future but I don't see an issue if people simply cannot be bothered to do casinos or trade aha? It's much easier I suppose.

Idm people who do it, but it consistently pisses me off when people call others "sad" or "stupid" for purchasing credits lol.

    so ye. What's your opinion?

Purchasing Credits isn't 'stupid' or 'sad'. It's what powers Sulake's profits and ensures that Habbo as a brand can keep going. Obviously, if you're purchasing Credits on the black market, then that's entirely different. I have, in the past, purchased Credits from Sulake - and I was perfectly happy doing so. There shouldn't be any stigma about buying Credits if you're prepared to spend the money.

It's your choice to buy Credits - nobody forces you to, but equally, nobody is stopping you.

My onion is that it's only stupid because you can buy then from the black market for much cheaper but we do need people to feed credits/furni into the economy so power to them

    Your onion? Aha .

Oh OT: Yes I thought about how credits are Sulake's main source of income but forgot to put it in there .

Actually, in hindsight, looking at their revenue streams, apparently only 10-15% of COM users buy Credits. The vast majority of their revenue will most likely come from sponsorship and advertising deals as they're quite lucrative (and expensive, if you look at their media pack prices!) - however, Credits are still an important source of income to Sulake.

Really? That's an awful lot lower than I expected. I would have said near the 40/50 % mark on .com to be honest. But yes, as you said, still an important factor in regards to revenue

Yeah, I'm not Sulake staff -shifty eyes- so I don't know the exact percentage of users buying Credits, but a few years ago it was around 10-15% of each hotel population buying Credits. I believe that the Credits revenue stream are split two ways - there are those who buy some Credits: a small amount of Credits (the 10-15%), and then there are those big spenders, who constitute less than 1%, who buy the vast majority of Credits (although I am led to believe that they now acquire their Credits through other means?)

I think I've only bought credits when they had a deal on, I got some when they had the nut promotion and the seed one too as really they doubled the amount you bought and I thought that was a really good deal. I also had £20 to use on my old phone haha (still got most of it). I don't find it stupid to buy them, yeah if they're buying each week I think they need to slow down and consider why are you doing that.

I haven't bought credits in years, I think I only bought some twice and that was in the first week I started habbo. Not sure why experienced people would want to buy directly from Sulake when there's much cheaper alternatives.
