so my friend owes me money and is sending me some money to my paypal. my paypal is NOT linked to a bank account OR a credit card. can i use the money to buy something online through paypal WITHOUT having a linked bank account/credit card?

depends on the place
Some places require you have bank/credit card
If you send money directly to someone then you won't need too, and I'd assume some places won't require anything linked to it.

You would be able to anywhere that allows Paypal but only for an amount equal to or less than your Paypal account contains.

yeah most places require an activated credit card/bank account. bit of a pisstake but security i guess.

no you dont really. i use mine on ebay and its not got a card or acc linked to it, just when people pay me into it i can spend it
