Making my own soap

[Conspiracy.]

I'm so bored and need a hobby I bought handmade soap a few days ago and thought I would research it. I want to make my own D: It seems fun.

I've also bought a book off Amazon.

I'm a little bit scared of the whole sodium hydroxide/lye business though. I've googled it and it seems like it can be pretty dangerous if used incorrectly.

Has anyone else ever made their own soap?

I've made soap before it turned out alright but when we made it the lid on the perfume was broken and a whole lot poured out. This kind of made it not stick together that well I think.
