Anyway to block a phone number from iphone?

Basically i rang my network provider and they said they cannot block specific numbers from texting/calling you.
They put me through to the apple department and they said the only way possible would be to jailbreak my phone which voids all warrenties and download an app via that. But i dont want to jailbreak it.
They said the only other option was to change my number free of charge, However this isnt really ideal as my work is set up to this number and a change of number will be ALOT of hassle + theres no guarantee the person i want to block wont get my number 2 days down the line as we have a few mutual friends..

Just wondering if anyone has any other info or experience in/on this? Kind of stuck for ideas now

only way i know is to jailbreak and install iblacklist.
