    Default Department Applications

    I'm curious to why applications still open and close. I understand why it was done in the past, the fansite was booming, extremely popular and having too much staff was a struggle (not to mention each department had a cap) but nowadays that's scraped, every department should constantly looking for new staff. It would make more sense if the applications were opened constantly and accept / reject them as they come. Take the graphics department for example, if you constantly open and close applications what if someone who is outstanding at graphics at the time wants to apply but the applications are shut, you're limiting yourself. Departments can't be receiving that many applications that it's necessary to close them every other week. I mentioned this a while back for habboxlive, one of the departments that really have a limited amount of hours and it seems to be working fine. I just think it's a silly idea, times change, things change and this is one of those times.

    Not really feasible for the help desk. We always get huge amounts of applications when they do open and they are opened back up when are numbers drop anyway. However I do think there is some departments like hxl that should remain open.

    The only departments I could see receiving mass applications would be the moderation department and the help desk.

    HxHD can always expand, up until it had 7 staff sitting behimd the desk all dayal right, same with hxl

    if the apps are closed people can pm the manager directly and ask, i've done it before.

    Nothing actually stops people from asking the manager if the applications are closed. People still contact them regardless if they are open or not asking if they can join.

    Just want to add on: If a manager wants to keep applications open then they can do so.

    some departments do need them open all the time especially when they're going through a staff lull, but sometimes there's a limit, if there's too many staff as it is (doing far much more work than is needed - so like comps staff only having to write 1 comp a month each) then they need to be shut. it's up to the individual managers though!

    Some departments can have endless staff but some need limits. In rares as a rares editor they inst that many errors to fix so they is only 2 of us. But Rares need updating daily and need to be approved as fast as possible so yeh.

    I think it is a good idea and something to consider. Personally I've never thought of it but it sounds like a good option. The only thing I fear is that people may not be aware of it as there isn't a thread to say they are open and when they close.
