Might be because you're admin in the group

It will be because your admin in a group. If you want them to stop either change your habbo email to one you dont check very often or leave the group.
i used to put the names of my favourite singers here... then i realised nobody cared

I think they should send you minimails or something when people try to join as I always end up not knowing when my friends join my groups and they have to nag me, although minimails would annoy me if your group was too popular. Are you getting notifications on email then, not anything on Habbo?

I do agree that you should be able to enable or disable notifications about people wanting your join your group. That way it'd be way easier to manage them.

I think you can disable these notifications? Try going on your account settings on habbo.com/me, there may be an option to disable alerts all together there, but I don't think you can just specifically disable group alerts.

You can disable that on www.habbo.com/me as others has said also maybe your the admin of the group?
