warning: this posts contains lots of females and lots of synths.
so, who do you think will do well in 2013?
i can see bbc sound of 2013 focusing on charlie xcx, she just released a new mixtape 'super ultra' which you can download legally with a quick google. (it also features amazing artwork that could have easily been a chavvy rave cd from 2004)
some of the strongest songs i've heard all year, the sequence from track 4 to track 8 is sublime. while she has been around for a couple of years i reckon she'll have katy b levels of success next year.
i'd recommend glow from super ultra anyway.
next up we have CHVRCHES, a glasgow synth-pop group which seems to be getting quite a bit of buzz from their new single 'the mother we share', resemblances from both their sound and song titles to the knife are apparent. it's a great song anyway and i'm going to see them tomorrow with passion pit. woo.
last up we have icona pop who will probably have no success at all next year since they're releasing their new album next week, you might of heard i love it from the advertising of that awful made in chelsea meets glastonbury show on t4. my personal favourite is ready for the weekend, however everyone seems to prefer i love it, so google that if you like the song below.
originally this thread was just going to be me possibly introducing new acts, but thought we should make it into a discussion anyway.
