Got them yesterday, as soon as I turn the chat on I get this horrible buzzing in my ear which can be heard by my friends when in a chat. I've googled it but I can't find a conclusive solution. Any help?

It happens with me sometimes when the cable to the headphone isn't connected proper. Try pushing it in more/rotating it a bit, it normally fixes mine.
Or try changing the batteries, mine normally makes a massive buzzing noise before the batteries run out

It's the same with the x12s. I'm not sure what your settings are like but these work well for me
Start > Control Panel > Hardware And Sound > Sound > Recording > Right Click x21 Microphone > Properties.

I've got a buzzing noise if I have the controller charging + headset in same time, take charger out it's fine.
