Default Password Stealing Website (Giveaway room)

I was just in a room, and a particular user is hosting a "giveaway". The owner gives instructions on the stickie that involve going to a very suspicious website, and whispering her the ads on this site.

Several users have already entered the room, warning that it is a scam and this particular website will steal your password. This user also has several scam rooms under his/her name. I've already tried to report the user, and received one reply saying "Fair Warning. Bla bla bla not acceptable to Habbo Way, if repeat offences occur will tell your parents" A bit confused about that reply, as it sounds like I am committing the offence.

She has already kicked and banned two of my characters, as I believe she is suspicious of them catching onto her activity. So wish me luck!

Honestly although it is not wise for the users to click, it is placing them in a vulnerable situation and it's kind of freaking me out.

I will update on the situation.

    Thanks!

If you don't enter your password onto a site them you should be absolutely fine. They can't grab your password just by going on a website! But most 'giveaway' rooms usually do come with a catch, so be wary of all of them. Try to stick to official fansite ones or ones run by people you know!

make sure you don't put your password into these kind of sites, i've experienced these kind of sites personally, I know how they work, I wouldn't recommend even clicking the link as they can still get your IP[Internet Protocol] and do horrible things, as in shut your internet off anytime they like if they do have the correct tools, find out your personal info

    stick with fansites YOU trust

If you feel you're about to be "scammed" then it isn't worth the 1credit piece of furniture is it?

Ads? Don't they differ for various people, unless they meant different ads. I wouldn't click links or anything anyway but posting this is getting more awareness for newer users to say the least. Fansites are safer and I'd probably only trust them.

Defiantly. I would never enter my password into an external site! That's a big no no.

I'm not sure how this particular site worked, but when I was in the room, users were coming in warning that it apparently steal your password. Perhaps they did enter their password.

Good tip! I agree with your recommendation, and personally I never would enter these external sites. Besides the link that this user had looked pretty dodgy already, a fair warning.

Of course! It's a shame that certain users do fall for these tricks, but it is also a big negative on the other party for preying on vulnerable targets. By the way, are you insinuating that I fell for this scam?

That's what I thought as well. Unless this website had their own so called "ads" but I have no idea how it worked as I didn't go on the website. I agree with that. I personally would never enter any external links that I find to be dodgy. Fansites have more reassurance, as they're used by many users.

Sites that you don't know do not put your password or best yet do not click the link or go to the website. If you press the link and put your password because it says you will get 500 creds of you put your username and password.... don't believe that story bro you will end up being scammed!
