Jagex have recently announced that they have managed to recover a full backup of what the RS servers were like back in August 2007, but before they can go ahead and put the development time into bringing back 2007 servers they are holding a vote to determine if people want the servers or not. The vote itself will consist of 4 levels based on the amount of votes they get within the 2 weeks of voting time.
If they get 50k votes for 07 servers they will bring it back as a seperate system (much like RSC) but it will cost an additional $15 for membership fees. It will also receive no updates but will be maintained for maintenance.
If they get 250k votes or more, they will bring the RS servers of 07 back with a small development team and a charge of $5 more to the membership fee instead of $15. This point also has minor maintenance and a possibility of adding some anti-bot measures if its necessary.
If they manage to get over 500k votes the 07 servers will return with no extra membership fees, a dedicated development team, some updates and possible anti-bot measurements
But... if they get 750k votes within the 2 week period they will bring the old 07 servers back with the benefit of EVERYONE being able to play the free portion of the servers. It will receive the same treatment as the other options with the addition of regular members only polls to determine what updates are top priority to appear next on the servers.
The vote itself is members only and will run from Friday 15th February for 2 whole weeks.
