Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Boxart

News has been circulating around the web that Ubisoft plan to release a new Assassin's Creed game this year. Well now I can confirm those rumors by showing you the boxart of the game, which you can see below.



The new hero of the game appears to be a pirate. Other confirmed details reveal that the game itself will be out on PS3, 360, Wii U and PC and that the PS3 version, like all past AC Games, come with an additional hour of gameplay content.

i definitely think they're carrying this on a bit too much now. as much as it is a good game the storylines are a bit tedious imo..

Apparently you will play as Edward Kenway, Haythams Father and Conors Grandfather. I'm not sure about the pirate approach to it but I'll reserve judgement until we hear more about it. Big reveal on the 4th.

They need to slow down developing these, while I understand that they have two teams working on the franchise, AC3 wasn't on par with previous games. They need to come together and take some time to develop AC4, it made far more sense to end Desmond's story on this gen, and then start the new storyline on next-gen.

About the next gen, this new game has been confirmed to be released on the next gen consoles too, so far a release date of October 29th is mentioned. There is even a countdown page hinting to a reveal of sorts on Monday: http://assassinscreed.us.ubi.com/announce/
