    Default Severe Neck Pain

ok So I woke up and I tried sitting up, but I had a large pain in the right side of my neck which prevented me from doing so. To lift my head I have to actually support it/pull it up with my hands. I have full movement of the rest of my body, which I suppose is good cos it can't be major.
I can not lift my head on my own, turn it/tilt it, etc without severe pain. If I try to do those actions I am actually ending up in tears because it hurts so much.
I can not feel any pain if I start prodding my neck in that area, which makes me assume it's not something normal. And it's not that normal pain like 'oh, must have slept funny, got a pain', it's like someones stabbing me .-.

I really don't know what to do. I've taken some pain killers but it's not helping. I don't know if I should go to the A&E. It's that bad.

Anyone else had this? and got any solutions to what I can do to help the pain?
Feel free to ask for more details

If it's that unbearable go to A&E otherwise just make an appointment to see your GP. Try to keep it supported for the time being.

I suffer from that when I sleep the wrong way... bothers me all day long but all you need to do is rest your neck, is ok to move it some times roundly, but don't stress it too much.

If it doesn't go away, I do not have medical knowledge to help you, therefore you need to see a doctor.

It happened to me sometimes. What I do is to keep my head in the comfortable position like what alexJriley said and you'll be alright soon. Maybe, you happen to sleep on the wrong position that night?

A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity.
