    Default New Vs Old

So I'm just wondering peoples opinions on new music (2010-Present) to Older music (Elvis? 1950s? The Beatles (1960s, or maybe even going further into the 20th Century with Busted 2000s.)

Let me know what you think is better? Or, do you think they're totally different and should be respected in that way.

I love current music, but I also like 80s music - The Final Countdown - Europe for example! or popular music, Peter Andre - Mysterious girl (Who doesn't like a cheeky bit of Andre, Eh?!)

Im very modern, I like modern music but I don't like stupid little stereotype bands/artists that attract 11 year olds (e.g. one direction, justin bieber, miley cyrus)

Emeli Sande, Mumford and Sons, Bastille, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, The Script etc.

I don't like modern day rap, some of its ok but people like nicki minaj have spoilt it. in my opinion

Personally I DO prefer the new stuff, though I'm rather explicit in taste, have never liked any rap at all myself. Mainly into stuff like lana del rey, marina & the diamonds, the xx, paloma faith and so on.

Also have a love for game music though and I suppose that more falls into the "new" category as well

I don't mind the older music but having never really grown up with it it's not so important to me I suppose and I am not so fond of the old style really either.

I'm into 90's and early 2000's. That was the time where music didn't sound like it was being sang by robots. Also the songs actually meant something.

I like songs from all eras, it's really odd, I can listen to so much! My favourite era is probably late 90s and the millennium, but I also like quite a lot of modern music (mostly indie stuff though, that's actually *sung* and not autotuned).

I don't rule out anything if I personally like it. Not someone who classes themselves as indie and therefore only listens to music that fits into their conceptions. Love a lot of the older hip hop tunes, the 2000 standouts, but love cheese when I go clubbing. Anywhere with a cheese room I'll enjoy.

Yep, I know right. Many songs now are written for money, not for meaning or emotion

Every song written has a level of autotune/pitch on, it's what all producers do. From knowledge and being into this myself, I know even the slightest bit is used; but obviously you're getting at a singer who really can't sing, who is making money out of auto tune - I understand!

    A cheese room? How...original

Love indie. Love pop. Love rock. Love hip-hop. Tbh, all music is beautiful, except that of HEAVY screamo/metal/rap crap - Hey, it's just opinion!

I tend to like music from every era, but most of the songs I like are from 2000-2010. I don't really enjoy anything Pre-1970s, but yeah I like a bit of stuff here and there.
