Default What's the point in relationships at a young age?

    srs, talking ages 17-23

Whats the point in these relationships? For the most part they are destined to fail, with people moving away to university, or simply being to immature for a relationship.

I would rather stay single and live my life to the full instead of get tied down at the tender age of 18.

To a certain extent you could argue what's the point in anything we do. Why do most people do the things they do? Because, for the most part, they want to.

I was in an 18 month relationship (ended about 10 weeks before my 20th birthday) and to be honest it felt good, knowing you had someone you could depend on and someone who was there for you, had the same interests, same taste in music movies etc. I do miss it, but at the same time I dont (mainly because she was a bit of a ****).

i loved my childhood sweetheart!!! well not loved but you gain experience from the relationship, I'd rather go out with someone who has been in a proper relationship before, it just makes things so much easier

for the ones that tell each other they love one another in 3 says, so what. they're having fun and it feels good, no harm in that

    17-23?

Well tbh most couples *married couples* I know got together between the ages of 17-23.

I guess that's the age where you can do all new exciting stuff, but still mature enough to make it last.

ye it's so annoying when people are like "u can't love someone you've been dating a day!!", you don't exactly go into a relationship with no feelings so you must feel SOMETHING and it could be love!! plus if you ask an elderly couple how long they've been together and they say since they were 15 and knew they were in love the first day they met, you'd think it's cute lol whereas if we see a young couple claiming they're in love we'll think no..

er im 20 and i used to feel like i was becoming too old to go out drinking cause everyone my age was settling down with kids and partners and here was me getting wasted every weekend and ykno, not having anything serious lol. & im in a relationship now, not cause i feel too old but because its someone i see a future with and yeah i feel young now because i could still be out getting trashed, have a career THEN find someone but I'm sick of getting drunk and would much rather spend my weekends with them. & even if this doesn't last im definitely not gonna regret it or wish i had been getting drunk n going with randoms instead.

Why not, if it makes them happy and they feel attracted to each other then they should enter a relationship at any age they please. It's not necessarily destined to fail, but I do see why university > long-distance complicates things.
