    Default internet/ethernet cable/ports not working

for a few weeks now my ethernet ports have been playing up

to make it work i have to turn my laptop off, unplug the ethernet cable, plug it back in & start laptop back up

i did this more than 10 times yesterday taking more than half an hour just to connect to the internet

i've already tried using 4 different ethernet cables & have used 2 different wall ports so i'm sure it's my laptop port that's messing up

it's got to the stage where i have to leave my laptop on overnight because i'm afraid it's going to totally stop working

i've looked on google but nothing makes sense really

    anyone got any suggestions?
