Default Bodacious Banknotes - Ends 31st July

I've always had quite a weird interest in banknotes (not just the financial side to them). I've always found the designs on notes interesting, especially the people that appear on them - Elizabeth Fry, Isaac Newton, Florence Nightingale and William Shakespeare are just a few famous figures that have made appearances on these notes and Winston Churchill is also expected to make an appearance on the £5 note in 2016. Mini fact: I bet you didn't know there also used to be a 10 shillings note (equivalent to 50p) 70 or so years ago!

If I could place anyone onto a bank note, it'd probably Tim Berners-Lee due to his invention of the World Wide Web (considering how far it has progressed in the past half-century). However, I'd like to know which notable British figure you would place onto a banknote if you could & why?

A world war 1 or 2 hero, perhaps. Or just someone that's actually done good for the world, not some rich-crazy person or idiotic people.

A true hero. Someone that's saved lives.

Does someone have to have saved lifes to be a true hero?

and I don't know if anyone has said her but,J.K. Rowling
She is very inspiration and made a generation of kids pick up a book, and still does today! She also donates a lot to charities (she lost her $ billionaire status because she donated so much. Well that's what I read somewhere.)
i used to put the names of my favourite singers here... then i realised nobody cared

    Elizabeth Garrett Anderson
She was the first qualified female doctor, and although not very famous, she was key to working towards sex equality and i believe a role model for not just women, but anyone to reach out and do what they dream of.

    Andy Murray (for 2013-14) notes.

I think they should change the face regularly to celebrate the most successful and influential British people of the modern era. They can serve as inspiration for us, plus it would be quite cool to have lots in circulation!!

In 2012 you could have had Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah etc. and in years before that J. K. Rowling to celebrate her success as an author.
