Default Christmas VIP Charity Final Poll

Thanks to everyone who voted in the first poll - We did say we was going to short list it so we would then have a better idea of the chosen charity Habbox would be supporting this year. So we have decided to take the top 10 from the poll and put them in one last final round.

Please vote for the charity YOU think Habbox should support this year in the sale of VIP starting next month.

    Name Description
Shelter Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing. We do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good.
Cancer Research UK Our main purpose is simple: to save lives by preventing, controlling and curing cancer. We do this through our world-class research into over 200 types of cancer, all of which is entirely funded by our supporters.
Teenage Cancer Trust Our vision is a future where young people’s lives don’t stop because they have cancer. We make sure they’re treated as young people first, cancer patients second and everything we do aims to improve their quality of life and chances of survival.
Dogs Trust Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Our mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
Make-A-Wish Foundation Make-A-Wish aims to grant 1,000 wishes per year and to do this we need YOUR help. Even the smallest donation goes a long way and is used to continue our vital work.
Help The Heroes Our mission is to deliver an enduring national network of support for our wounded and their families. We will inspire and enable those who have made sacrifices on our behalf to achieve their full potential. The war in Afghanistan may be nearly over, but for those who have suffered life-changing injuries, their battles are just beginning. We will not let them fight these battles alone.
    Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC)
The DEC brings 14 leading UK aid charities together in times of crisis: Action Aid, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, Care International, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Islamic Relief, Merlin, Oxfam, Plan UK, Save the Children, Tearfund and World Vision; all collectively raising money to reach those in need quickly.
Shelter Box We provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters, at the time when they need it the most. We are now firmly established at the forefront of disaster relief and our work constantly earns the respect of outside agencies.
RSPCA We're the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and we've been here, looking out for animals, since 1824. It's our vision to work for a world in which all humans respect and live in harmony with all other members of the animal kingdom.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent Charity which aims to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.

This poll will close on Saturday 30th November 2013 at 21:00 GMT.

    Voted for Shelterbox.

I would of liked to of seen maybe the bigger charities like Dog Trust and Cancer Research stopped only because they are huge charities anyway (not because they don't deserve it).

No games for the children in hospitals this year from us then...

In that case, I'm going to go for a charity that gets mentioned a lot on this forum and go for Shelter

@xxMATTGxx; - I'm guessing we didn't get limited down to 5 choices because a lot of charities tied for 5th? And any chance we'll get the results of the other poll? (Probably after this poll is finished so it doesn't influence any votes).

I went for the Top 10 option so there was more variety in the charities really. But there were very close/similar votes for the ones in the final poll - I'll publish the results of the previous poll once this one has closed.

If you are clueless on who to vote for, it might be worth noting who Habbox has donated to in the past:

    Shelter
    Cancer Research UK (2006, 2007)
    Teenage Cancer Trust
    Dogs Trust
    Make-A-Wish Foundation UK (2010)
    Help The Heroes (2009)

    Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC)
    Shelter Box
    RSPCA (2009)
    Ronald McDonald House Charities

Yeah, that makes sense if the top 2 were cancer related, and the next 2 were natural disaster related

Went for Shelter as I've seen their work in action rather than many others to whom a handout of our proportion would just get lost among the billions they already receive, and of course doesn't just pay for dog food

Voted Teenage Cancer Trust having lost two friends to cancer over the past couple of years, and know how important TCT was to them. One of them raised over £100k.
