I commend you on achieving a good result first of all, because I've attempted it before and I just got so confused and gave up.
But I do agree with the above comment, a little more detail would be great.

Left side of both of the avatars look really flat. I like the shading so far though.
Good job overall. Just work on the left side and try create a focal point maybe.
