Crimea votes to join the Russian Federation

Many Crimeans loyal to Kiev boycotted the referendum, and the EU and US condemned it as illegal.

Pro-Russian forces took control of Crimea in February.

They moved in after Ukraine's pro-Moscow president Viktor Yanukovych was ousted after street protests.
It makes me laugh how the US, EU and UK condemn the referendum as illegal..... uh what about the street violence that they supported that overthrew the democratically elected government in Kiev back earlier this year?

Interesting anyway, apparently officials from the Crimea will fly to Moscow tommorow to submit an application to join Russia.

    Thoughts?

Not sure what to think as I know nothing about it. What Crimea should have done is called in a US, UK and EU official as well as a Ukraine and Russian official and held an actual, recognised, official referendum on the matter, just to shut everyone up and to make it formal rather than rushed, as it would hush the thoughts that it was backed by Russia and may be fraudulently done. Throwing the word illegal around is stupid, as it seems to be used far too frequently and quite often incorrectly.
