X-Men Question

Ok I've never really watched any of the x-men movies and I've been watching a lot of marvel lately and I want to see the new X-Men movie, all I really know is its about mutants,

I know theirs previous X-Men movies and like spin offs, such as Wolverine but,

What order do the movies go in to watch? So I'll be fine watching the new one.

Release order is fine, you can skip the Wolverine films if you want. The only film that I'd say could be required to watch is X-Men First Class, other than that the original trilogy is still worth watching but not as critical. The Wolverine films aren't usually recommended but I personally enjoyed them. As long as you watch the original X-Men trilogy in order and the second wolverine film after the third X-Men film it doesn't matter what order you watch them.
