I am thinking of buying this. I have a new room, a large desk blah blah and I would really like a new sleeker looking and larger monitor than my current 23". I also want to use it for watching films and tv from my bed so the size is something I would ideally like. Just wondering of peoples thoughts and if they think its good value or not?

You could probably find a cheaper alternative from a different brand but I'd just stick with the one you've chosen, I have two 23" IPS monitors from ASUS and they're great, usually the cheaper ones come with all sorts of problems & bad warranties

You cant really go wrong with a monitor just make sure ones you do view are generally:

<8ms response time - Pretty much the highest response time you'll see now, one you linked has 5ms so you're all good, mine have 6ms and you wont tell the difference below that threshold anyway - be sweet for gaming too

Make sure it's 1080p+

Make sure the ports it has avaliable suit you, yours has 2xHDMI 1xVGA - (I presume) you're only using 1 monitor so this will be fine 'cause you're probably just gonna use the one HDMI. I have two monitors coming off my graphics card and since my graphics card only has 1 hdmi, 1 displayport and 2 dvi ports this would be a problem for me since I'd need to get a DVI>VGA converter for the 2nd monitor. (Just thought I'd throw this example in so you knew what I meant)

Also, you're buying an IPS monitor so the screen might be slightly darker/lighter depending on where you're sitting in relation to this (for example, looking down at it, looking up at it, looking from the side), but if your monitor is directed towards your bed/seat or whatever, this wont be a problem, you could just tilt it or w/e but I'm not sure about the tilting capabilities of the monitor you've linked so just look into that if you think you'll need to ajust it a lot - also it says 178 degree viewing angle so generally the "looking at it from a side angle* wont be a problem

Lastly, just make sure you like the overall looks of it, I don't know why but I hate monitors that are any other than black and I think the silver on this monitor would annoy me

Other than that, it's a beautiful small bezel IPS monitor, just make sure you've taken into account everything before dropping £250 on this joint. The colour on IPS monitors is wonderrrrrfull

The Dell U2412M is widely regarded as the best 24" monitor currently in production:

I spent several months recently picking out my own new monitors and for this price range and size these were recommended everywhere for build and colour quality.

Alternatively if you're set on having 1080p (Rather than the U2412M's 1920x1200) then the U2312M is also highly regarded:

Edit: On a sidenote I would not recommend getting a 27" monitor at 1080p, anything less than WQHD will look terrible.
