Disabling VM's

You should probably allow forum mods to bypass this if VM's is a method that moderators actively use.

Like now I just got a PM as mine were disabled, I thought mods could get past that (I know SA+ can)?

It's not an issue as such because we can just send you a PM to let you know we've moved a thread, doesn't bother me but VMs are generally quicker.

Yeah I agree with this. The reason we send PM's for things like moving threads etc. is it's more friendly because it's not a rule break but it kinda defeats the purpose when the Mod is forced to send a PM

Yeah I get it's not an issue as it's easy to get around, but would be logical for have mods bypass it as I always thought that was the case

Only time I've had people comment on my profile was Ms.Aqua and Bolt660 who at the time were Manager and SA respectively so obviously SA+ can bypass but not mods :p

Like people who have it disabled obviously know enough about forum to know PM aint that bad to be put off or whatever just figured might be worth looking into getting mods to bypass it.

yes it would be logical, I think I've moaned about this before, as much as a PM isn't too bad I can imagine some members getting heated just realising they have a PM from a Moderator, whereas if it's a VM they auto know it's nothing bad, just a bit if info or a friendly hello.

Admin CP > Forum & Moderators > Show All Moderators > Each moderator needs to be edited and under "Visitor Message Permissions" there is an option called "Can Moderate Posts" this needs to be set to Yes.

Then they should be able to by pass it if anyone turns off visitor messaging just for contacts and moderators.

I intentionally turned off visitor messages in the past so moderators would PM rather than VM me.
