Derren Brown’s message is quite a simple one - we all have a story, we all have a path that has led us to where we are now and the secret to a happy life is in our own individual thoughts and actions.

Literally everything that Roger Zelazny ever wrote, as well as Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Errrr the Bible had a pretty big impact on my life, the Biff Chip and Kipper books that I read as a tiny kid and the Village With Three Corners ones too because they got me into reading in the first place idk so many

the biggest impact would probably be The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman and a lot of G H Mead's work. just changed my outlook on how life works

does poetry count? allen ginsberg's howl is basically long enough to be a book, everything in shel silverstein's Every Thing On It as well

as for fiction, well my absolute favourite books of all time would have to be everything by Thomas Harris

honorable mention goes to The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins

Harry Potter. It may sound pretty sad, but without it I don't think I would be with Char.
