    We reuse them anyway, we also had them in junior school for years.

    no, we use them for big bbqs/parties etc as we dont have enough normal cutlery for that, and I would usually reuse them.

    The little white ones I wouldn't even bother buying because they're useless, the only thing that actually works is the spoon and he knives and forks just bend or snap. We have some slightly more luxurious blue plastic cutlery which is quite chunky which we do use and rewash a lot of the time, these ones are good for eating yoghurts and buttering toast etc

    I don't think anyone uses plastic cutlery as a replacement to metal cutlery

    people use plastic cutlery under circumstances where they're feeding a large amount of guests or the cutlery could be stolen

    Nope, I recycle if it's the right plastic or just eat with fingers or real cutlery. I don't buy into this conspiracy theory / militant hippy rubbish.
