Default Hove pensioner breaks out of care home to celebrate D-Day in France

Excellent story what a mentalgent, 89 year old war veteran smuggled his medals out in the inside of his overcoat and boarded a bus to France without telling anyone

Loved reading this story because he managed to get out and join in with the memorials. Hate that a carehome would stop someone going to this when he was clearly capable of going. Seeming as he got his self there.

I think my heart kinda just sunk in happiness - I don't see why the care home wouldn't of granted him with permission anyway to go and celebrate it!
Most of these war veterans may not even be alive to see another year of dday remembrance in 2015
