Default [HxL] Age Restriction on New DJs

    Hello folks,

Here in my time at Habbox, I have ran across so many immature kids. I have had to deal with them, I have had a few be rude and immature to me in my time here. (No I am not leaving). Anyways, I am here to propose an idea for the Application Process.

I know there used to be an age limit, you had to be x age plus to DJ. I think if we set the age to 15, we will cut down on the immature kids. Now, let it alone that the manager is 14, she acts like she is 18 or 19 years old. The immaturety that I have seen is terrible. I myself am fed up with it, hince why I am making this post.

Let me give you a scenerio:

A DJ leaves HxL because he was harrassed by DJ's. Yes, there is an action he could have taken, but the fact of it is, he didn't feel like anything was going to happen to said DJ(s). Please remember this is a scenerio, it might or might not have happened.

    Anyways, you get my point.

I thank you for reading, if you have any comments or concerns, please respond to me and make sure you tag me so I may see it.

If your actual manager is younger than the age you're proposing to restrict it to then rather than stating that she acts a certain age perhaps consider that age should not be a factor at all. I know 20 somethings who, in your view, would act like teenagers. There is no way to properly quantify maturity so to restrict people based on age alone would be cutting the potential futures short of a lot of DJs.

In this hypothetical situation of yours... What kind of harassment are we talking about? I know that last week for example there was a bit of (and I hate using this word) banter between DJ moist and DJ smudge because smudge was talking a lot during her show (something that I actually really like) and a comment was made about it on air and it seems to have been taken to heart where it wasn't intended.

What kind of harassment is it that you're trying to tackle with this proposition? Perhaps a different measure could be put in place.

I don't agree with age restrictions, but I think that you should have to wait a bit before applying to become a DJ. Like a week or 2 after you join hxf you can apply to become a DJ. That way they have a chance to integrate themselves into the community before becoming staff.

It would be very hard to moderate - I know for a fact a lot of people lie about their age on this forum already so having to get them "prove" their age is going to be a nightmare. Harassment can be done by any person regardless of their age though, young or old. Restricting to a specific age limit isn't going to help but we will need to know what harassment we are talking about here.

You can't say lower the age and then say "oh the manager is 14 but acts 18/19" ... whats that to say that others aren't? You can't just say no you're 14 you can't DJ because of the minority that are immature.

You hire them, if they're good at their job, it's fine. If not, you lose them. People will only lie about their age and so many sounds a lot older too.

I agree with what @e5; is saying but disagree with age restriction.
This is why we have trials - to see how good these people are at their jobs also warnings/firings. Some nineteen eighteen etc year olds are more immature then thirteen's and fourteen's so it's more about the personality rather than age. Everybody gets a trial when they get a job and that trial is to prove if they're good with the job. They'll fail their trial if they do not have ability so if you really think a PARTICULAR DJ is doing their job incorrectly you should report that DJ alone to the Head DJ and maybe they'll keep an eye on them but age restrictions? Really? No.

    A) Could lie about your age
    B) There are plenty of immature people over 15 years of age
    C) Not all under 15s are incredibly immature and determined to piss people off.

Don't think we should be trying to restrict a department that is actually doing decently.

How the hell do you impose to do this when your manager is younger than yourself?! I'm not saying for one minute Gina is immature as she isn't, she knows when to act professionally and when to have a laugh, this is what seem to forget to tell apart when working within Habbox as hardly anyone has emotions or knows how to act "professionally."
As the Garner has said, moderation of this is hard as people may not be truthful on their application making it hard to moderate the applicants who apply!
Age restrictions also mean you blackout potential "talent", within habboxlive. Overall, it just spuds like you're a power hungry wannabe manager!

Going to take this opportunity to refer to something James said when he was manager which is...

    Gina is 14,
    I am 15 and
    Izzy is 16

    Just because people are young doesn't mean they;
    a) Can't do the job properly
    b) Act immaturely.

At the end of the day, we are a fansite aimed at a teen game

I play on Garry's Mod servers where you are required to be at least 15 to use the in-game voice chat system. It works in keeping "squeakers" off the microphone, but it has no effect whatsoever on the levels of maturity of the players on/off the mic.
Is part of what you want to complain about the fact that younger DJs typically have higher, squeakier voices? I could understand you trying to feign another complaint about young DJs because you secretly get sick of their voices

And thank you @Calum0812; for pointing out DJs on a teen game should also allowed to be teens themselves. That's probably the best (and most obvious) reason that this idea is a little meh

people know me because of that shower thing one time and I do not regret anything

upon further review I feel a rather mild regret is warranted
