'So I stood up for myself the only way I knew how: through my music, writing songs like We R Who We R, Warrior, and Love into The Light. At some point, though, those words didn't ring true to me anymore. I felt like a liar, telling people to love themselves as they are, while I was being hateful to myself and really hurting my body. I wanted to control things that weren't in my power, but I was controlling the wrong things. I convinced myself that being sick, being skinny, was part of my job. I felt safer somehow.'

... again? She reported on her eating disorder not that long ago. Last I saw she was progressing well. It can't help to make people more aware of the disorder and from a quick glimpse it doesn't scream "give me attention" but more "give this disorder more attention, and I hope at least someone seeks help" which is nothing but good, really.
