Default The HxF Mole 3 - Task 6: [MSS] Mole Summer Spectacular!

This task is essentially a variety of small mini tasks that make up the Mole Summer Spectacular! You will be competing for points in the mini tasks, and the winners at the end of the task will win some nice prizes! There is no group VIP available for this task.

So, first let us explain the mini tasks:

    Task 6a: Poison Chalice

We have 17 contestants, so we have 17 chalices. 16 of them are poisoned, 1 isn’t. Your job is to figure out which chalice is the safe one. Each contestant has been PM’ed telling them which number chalice is definitely poisoned. Each person has been PM’ed a different numbered chalice.

So, how do you find the safe chalice? Simple, you simply discuss your PMs with each other – but of course, it’s a competition. Who will you give your information out to? Who do you trust?

To drink from a chalice, you simply need to state in this thread: ‘I will drink Chalice number X’ in bold. Once somebody drinks from a chalice, we will reveal if it’s poisoned or not.

If it isn’t, the person that drank from that chalice will win 17 points for the tournament. Everyone else will win points equal to the amount of contestants that have drank from a chalice. So if the first person to drink from a chalice got it correct, they would score 17 points, everyone else would score 1. If the first person got it wrong, but the second person got it right, everyone would score 2 points. Etc.

If the person drank from a poisoned chalice, they would score the amount of points equal to the amount of people that have drank and play continues. So if the first person got it wrong, they would score 1 point. If the second person got it wrong, they would score 2 points etc.

    Good luck.

    ------
    Task 6b: Four Letter Words

Each contestant must simply private message me a 4 letter word. If Google doesn’t define this word, you will be asked to resubmit. Once everyone has submitted a 4 letter word, scoring will work as follows:

Each contestant will score 1 point every time a letter from their word is used in somebody else’s word.

So, take this 3 player example:
    P1: Bold P2: Fast P3: Male
P1 would score 1 point as they share an L with P3.
P2 would score 1 point as they share an A with P3.
P3 would score 2 points as they share an A with P3 and an L with P2.

    Good Luck.

    ------
Now, the following 3 tasks will take place in ‘rounds’. This means there is a tighter time limit for these mini tasks compared to the task as a whole. These time limits will be every 4 hours. If you miss a round (if you’re not online for a 4 hour period) then don’t worry. We will let you submit your actions in advance. If your action is no longer suitable or you submit no action, you will automatically do a neutral action. Round periods are as follows in BST:

9pm-12am: Initial starting time for submissions.
    12am-4am: Round 1
    4am-8am: Round 2
    8am-12pm: Round 3
    12pm-4pm: Round 4
    4pm-8pm: Round 5
    8pm-9pm: Round 6
This means that from the posting of this thread (9pm) you have three hours to get your first submissions for tasks 6c, 6d and 6e in. At 12am I will post the results of these actions, and you then have until 4am to get your submissions in again. This continues and results of each round of actions are posted at 12am, 4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm and 9pm meaning these tasks have a maximum of 7 rounds.

So, you can submit a PM to automate all your actions, or if you are only away for some of the time periods, you could submit your PM as normal for round 1, see the results for round 1, submit rounds 2, 3 and 4 together, then submit 5, 6 and 7 as normal when you return later on.

An example of submitting all of your actions is as follows:

    For task 6c:
    Round 1: Toggle Kardan’s switch
    Round 2: Toggle xxMATTGxx’s switch
    Round 3: Toggle lawrawrrr’s switch
    Round 4: Toggle lawrawrrr’s switch
    Round 5: Toggle Kardan’s switch
    Round 6: Toggle Kardan’s switch
    Round 7: Toggle lawrawrrr’s switch
    For task 6d:
    Round 1: I pick 7
    Round 2: I pick 6
    Round 3: I pick 4
    Round 4: I pick 3
    Round 5: I pick 2
    Round 6: I pick 1
    Round 7: I pick 10
    For task 6e:
    Round 1: I shoot myself
    Round 2: I shoot xxMATTGxx
Round 3: I shoot the air
Round 4: I shoot the air
    Round 5: I shoot myself
    Round 6: I shoot lawrawrrr
    Round 7: I shoot lawrawrrr

    ------
    Task 6c: Lamps
Imagine that each player has a lamp (which is on) in front of them. During each round each contestant may flick the switch of their own lamp, or the lamp of another contestant. At the end of the round, anyone with a lamp that is off will be eliminated from this task. Play continues until either the end of the task, or only one/none player(s) remain. You submit your choice each round via PM.

You will score points equal to the amount of players that are already eliminated plus one. So anyone eliminated in the first round will score one point since nobody has been eliminated. The last player standing will win 17 points.

    Example submission:
I wish to toggle Kardan’s switch
    Good Luck.

    ------
    Task 6d: Greed

This mini task is simple. Each round you must submit a number from 1 to 10 to me via PM. The player (or players in the case of a tie) with the highest number is eliminated. Sounds stupid – except that in the final round (either the last time period as defined above, or the first round with 4 or less players) we add up everyone’s previous numbers and the player with the highest total will be the winner.

Scoring for this task is the same as Task 6c.

    Example submission:
    I pick 7
    Good Luck.

    ------
    Task 6e: Shooting Game

With this mini task you have a choice each round. You can either shoot the air, shoot yourself, or shoot another contestant.

If you shoot the air, you essentially do nothing and are defenceless, leaving your fate to the other players.
If you shoot yourself you will be eliminated if nobody shoots you. If somebody does shoot you, you are safe, and whoever shoots you will be eliminated.
If you shoot another contestant they will be eliminated, unless they shot themselves, in that case, you will be eliminated.

The scoring for this task is the same as Task 6c.

    Example submission:
    I will shoot myself
    Good Luck.

    ------
The overall task will end either when the task time limit ends, or when all mini-tasks have been completed. The contestants with the highest points will then be awarded various prizes. Please note that for the top 4 players, you have a CHOICE. That means you can only have one of the prizes listed. If you do not submit a choice, you will be given the first choice available in your list of choices.

1st: Choice from Exemption+/Neutralisation/4 Freebies/10 days of Individual VIP
2nd: Choice from Exemption/Neutralisation/3 Freebies/7 days of Individual VIP
3rd: Choice from Neutralisation/2 Freebies/5 days of Individual VIP
4th: Choice from Freebie/4 days of Individual VIP
5th: 3 days of Individual VIP
6th: 2 days of Individual VIP
7th: 1 day of Individual VIP

And what is an Exemption+ I hear you cry! Simple! It's an Exemption that you can carry between rounds - essentially, you decide which round you wish to play it. The latest time it can be used is Execution Quiz 5. If you are executed with one, it's essentially wasted. To play it, you simply play it instead of submitting an Execution Quiz.

    Good Luck!

The poison chalices are being prepared by my butler. PMs being sent out now.

    - - - Updated - - -

Already made an error, my bad. There are 18 chalices. One for each player (which is poisoned) and then the unpoisoned chalice. Error came up because it was originally 14 contestants/15 chalices but this task got bumped up a round.
