    Default Amazon x Twitch

So, there has been rumours surfacing for a while in regards to Google acquiring Twitch for upwards of $1 billion.

So, Google bought Twitch you say?
It would appear you'd be wrong.

Twitch has confirmed a deal with Amazon to buy Twitch for $970m by the end of 2014.

    Thoughts?
I liked the idea of instead of muting audio of vods, they could provide a link to buy the song in Amazon instead. aha

Anyway, I feel like I am more okay with Amazon buying Twitch than Google as I don't think a huge amount will change in the user experience department unlike Google who like to change everything to be Google+ branded.

good that its not google but still not good for twitch users. These big companies buying these money makers always ends bad for the users

I can see Amazon doing really big things with Twitch and expanding it to loads of different platforms. Maybe Fire TV?

Im surprised Google didn't end up with Twitch as it would probably fit their company better but I could imagine it being integrated too far with lots of stuff removed in favour of their own services so hopefully Amazon improves things without trying to change too much

twitch weren't making very good decisions on their own, although better than what google would have done.
doubt amazon will make any improvements to it, people are easily pissed off about changes.

hitbox.tv is probably gonna be the next big thing if they play it right

Doubt anything will overtake twitch for a long time yet.

Twitch is basically in the same position Youtube is with their market share. All major gaming competitions etc go to twitch as well as anyone steaming a game.

Looking at hitbox it just looks like an uglier replica of Twitch a few updates ago lol.

    I doubt it's going anywhere

As long as Amazon don't make it exclusive to Prime users, this could be a good thing.
