    Oh been watching Daily Politics and this question was brought up but it was just assumed he'd stay and push for the further devolution promised. At least he bows out as a principled and passionate politician.

    Huh? How has he not resigned? The title of the thread seems perfectly fine for me. I'm also quite surprised that he's resigned.

    I checked Wiki which said he's resigned and BBC, apparently he's to leave office in November following an SNP leadership contest.

    Either way, he's out of the door now.
