Ok, so

I have all my media and music on an external hard drive, and I don't have enough storage space on my Mac.

So I'm wondering how do I make iTunes select and read the music from my external hard drive to transfer to my iPhone and not having to store the music on my mac,

Not 100% sure, but I think you need to put them on your pc first. could be wrong but i think i remember reading that somewhere.

you will need to put them on ur Mac cos soon as u unplug hard drive it won't play the song on iTunes anymore and ask you to locate the file first

might be able to sync them onto ur iphone tho and it'll work til u next sync
