Default Your top movies, and why?

    Hi,
I was wondering, since I've seen the kind of movies you guys like, i wanted to know the reason behind that!

I can't really arrange them from top to bottom, but here's some of them:

    1. Natural Born Killers (I love the lighting effects and the projector effects, also the music and the iconic characters)

    2. Taxi Driver (I love the iconic character as well, and the music, photography and all of it XD)

    3. Pulp Fiction (Also, iconic, music, and the whole thing just came up really good, I love the 70s style they were looking for.)

4.Enter the VOID ( I love the effects of the lights and colors, also the photography is crazy)

There's much more movies like Fight Club, Scarface, Fear and Loathing in las Vegas. but whatever

    What about you guys??

    1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
    2. All About Lily Chou-Chou
    3. Oldboy
    4. Kikujiro
    5. This is England

Honorable mentions: Leon, Nightcrawler, American Beauty, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Sonata, Into the Wild, Seven Samurai, Schindler's List and Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring.

The top two are constantly alternating, but I'm on Hobbit hype at the moment so I'll give it to Middle Earth today. The Fellowship is just a perfect film to me (and ironically the only one I didn't see at the cinema). It introduces Tolkien's wonders so flawlessly and I adore the chemistry between the Fellowship before the company get separated and the cast is expanded. I love Lily Chou-Chou for its atmosphere and Shunji Iwai's masterful, unique direction. I can't knock it, and Oldboy, Kikujiro and This is England are just great, great films.

    1. When Harry Met Sally - seriously this is one of my favourite films of all time and i am NOT a romance person normally
    2. Howl's Moving Castle - read the book before even hearing about the movie and it was one of my favourites. Heard there was a movie and wasn't expecting much but it was just. so. beautiful omg
    3. Nativity! - cheers me up whenever I'm in a sad mood. Don't care that it's not always Christmas.
    4. The Dark Knight - thrilling, love every part of it and think Christian Bale makes a fantastic batman. just a shame about the other two films in that trilogy..
    5. The Holiday - another Christmas classic. Brings good memories as my mum and I once stayed up until 1:30am to finish watching this film. That was just a really lovely night.
    6. Up - gets me every time.

Probably more but i can't remember

my favourite films are always changing. it depends on my mood at the time really lol

    - the last seduction (rly like noir/neo noir)
    - rust and bone
    - short term 12
    - american beauty
    - drive (nicolas winding refn. is just insanely good)

i wouldn't even say these are my favourites or anything. they're what i can think of at the moment and i think they're all fantastic.

Nightcrawler is probably my favourite from 2014; absolutely loved it. Jake Gyllenhaal is fantastic.
