Default Do you drink a lot of water?

So within the past 2 years I've noticed myself drinking a lot more water (no I don't have diabetes). I used to never drink water, I'd very rarely drink it at all. Going into Upper School and knowing that my health was important, I was told I should start drinking a lot more water. Living in Australia it's actually a very easy thing to do, whereas I know when I lived in England, when it was cold, the last thing I wanted to do was drink cold water. Over the last few years I've found it becoming more of a habit and I have seen many benefits from it.

A few benefits are listed below (I'm sure you all have heard them before!):

    1. Increases Energy & Relieves Fatigue – Since your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. As an added bonus, your energy levels are also boosted!

    2. Promotes Weight Loss – Removes by-products of fat, reduces eating intake (by filling up your tummy if consumed prior to meals), reduces hunger (hello natural appetite suppressant!), raises your metabolism and has zero calories!

    3. Flushes Out Toxins – Gets rid of waste through sweat and urination which reduces the risk of kidney stones and UTI’s (urinary tract infections).

    4. Improves Skin Complexion – Moisturizes your skin, keeps it fresh, soft, glowing and smooth. Gets rid of wrinkles. It’s the best anti-aging treatment around!

    5. Maintains Regularity – Aids in digestion as water is essential to digest your food and prevents constipation.

    6. Boosts Immune System – A water guzzler is less likely to get sick. And who wouldn’t rather feel healthy the majority of the time? Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu, cancer and other ailments like heart attacks.

    7. Natural Headache Remedy – Helps relieve and prevent headaches (migraines & back pains too!) which are commonly caused by dehydration.

    8. Prevents Cramps & Sprains - Proper hydration helps keep joints lubricated and muscles more elastic so joint pain is less likely.

    9. Puts You in a Good Mood – When the body is functioning at its best, you will feel great and be happy!
So, do you drink a lot of water?

I drink a lot of water now, a few years ago I would only drink maybe one glass per day, but now its closer to about 10. Some of the benefits you listed I have noticed now that I drink more water, however I have found a few personal drawbacks to drinking more water. I find that I have to go to the toilet at least every two hours, while before I could hold it for the entire day. I find myself looking to drink water all the time which also contributes to needing the toilet more often. I also find that my mouth sometimes gets really dry, and so I always drink some more water to solve it.

On the other side though, since I started to drink water I have felt a lot more healthy than before and it has also helped me to reduce the amount of fizzy drinks I take.

i drink a lot of water, like possibly too much at times. it has gotten to the stage where i begin to panic without water near me as i'm constantly sipping away i do really like water, it's just i'm also feeling thirsty all the time too but it's possible i've just conditioned myself to associate it or something. lots of people think it's possible i have diabetes

I drink loads of water. I suffer from really bad migraines and one of the ways to help prevent them is by keeping myself properly hydrated. I get frustrated by people who say they don't drink water because they don't like it. My grandma is always getting told off by her GP for only ever drinking coffee.

I like water quite a bit but I'll only drink like a glass a day if that. When I'm at my parents house I'll always drink water though because I hate cheap pop.

Reading everyone's answers makes me feel so bad now lol. I don't really like water I think it tastes nasty. I only ever drink flavoured water which of course isn't like drinking normal water. I should really start to drink more lol I hardly touch the stuff. Oopsie. I've never got a headache or anything before though I dunno.
