Default Does your city or town have a Cathedral?

One definition of a city in Britain is whether or not your city has a cathedral... although it isn't universal and some towns do.

If so, post a picture of the cathedral and the name.

In Liverpool we have the great Anglican cathedral (on the right) and the Roman Catholic Cathedral on the left (the wigwam shaped building). The Catholic one is a modern design which I dislike, and work had previously started on the ENORMOUS (it was to be bigger than the Vatican) but was delayed by the war with only the crypt built and then they built that wigwam thing ontop of it. The original design is below (imposed on modern city) which shows the size and scale - it was designed by my favourite architect too, Sir Edward Luytens.

    How about you?

In Norwich we have the main cathedral build by the Normans out of beautiful limestone and a spire that's been rebuilt three times:

And then we have the ugly gothic roman catholic cathedral:
    Chippiewill.

Yes, I live in a cathedral city and it's beautiful

    Lichfield Cathedral

My school is directly opposite so I have the joy of getting to see this wonderful building most days. It was built early on in the 12th century and a lot of the original architecture is still intact
