    Default Dealing with exam anxiety/stress

Anyone got tips in dealing with anxiety/stress right before an exam? Got my 6 hour cooking exam tomorrow and I am so anxious and nervous about it, and it's making me stress out... my GCSEs didn't make me anxious as much...

I couldn't help with anything specific to practical exams as I only ever do essays but I can say that taking deep breaths and quietly going over positive thoughts in my head has always worked for me. I used to get extremely nervous about exams to the point where I used to feel physically sick before them.

But now I don't get nervous at all because the one thing that really helps me is the thought that the results of my exams are not up to chance. I know that I've worked hard all year and have done my revision well so there's no reason to think I'd fail.

    Good luck all the same

Yeah actually getting high right before using hot machinery is a really sensible idea and idk why I didn't suggest it tbh. Ignore my advice above. I'm sticking with this now thx.

Don't smoke a joint you'll end up eating all the food before it gets assessed

Any type of anxiety can be overcome with a rational thought process that acknowledges that if something is beyond your full control then worrying serves no purpose. You know how what you're doing so just have a good time and make some awesome food. Good luck!

Good thoughts, try to chill out a bit but maybe try to take your mind off it all for a bit so like, drink a hot chocolate and watch something.

To be honest this is what I did but didn't work for me rip :/
