    Default Rode bike to college...

I started my musical theatre course today...

Bought a bike yesterday and decided to ride it the couple of miles to college in Springburn. Google maps said it was only 15 minutes away on bike... Bull

Took me an hour and fifteen minutes and I got a bit lost. Was late to my first day, knackered myself out AND had a ballet lesson first thing.

Does anyone else ride a bike to work/school/college? I don't think I'm quite fit enough to do it yet!

Within a week of buying my first road bike I decided at 14 mile ride to work would be easy, but that I'd set myself an extra hour or so in case anything went wrong.

It did, I had flat tyres for the majority of the journey so it took me like 3 hours to get there.
I got lost, so a 14 mile ride turned into that of an 18 mile ride.
I was an hour late for work. I ached.

But then because of that, once I was shown the route home it was easy in comparison.
I lost that fitness however, and would struggle again.

I used to do a paperround and found it was quicker to walk it than it was on the bike (lot of getting up and off as well as being unfit so having to stop to give my legs a rest). When the recession hit, our family was hit rather hard and we couldn't afford bus fare. I started walking to school which took bout half hour, then to college which took an hour then to uni which took an hour and a half to train station then another 20 minutes to get to uni. I actually liked doing it, it was a good time to think and it woke me up. Doing it on a bike would've killed me lol

From where I think you're travelling from to Springburn?

Not 15 minutes, 15 minutes by car maybe.
