pretty much the same. it's just to support people with learning disabilities and mental illness to be independent e.g make sure they've taken their meds and showered, take them to pay their bills (many find it difficult to deal with money or get on a bus alone and we're often the only support system for them which is really sad! one guy can't go out his home without us helping him). today i went out with a guy with autism and we just chatted about life, played darts and ate chips. it's really fun and it's always nice to hear feedback on how you impact on their life.

I love putting the world to rights with my friends down the pub, doing that kind of stuff with those people and helping them get satisfaction from doing daily stuff that most normal people take for granted really must be so rewarding. Playing darts and eating chips sounds like a real load of fun but I just can't imagine how exhausting it actually is from coercing them to do things, helping them shower etc, kudos to you all.pretty much the same. it's just to support people with learning disabilities and mental illness to be independent e.g make sure they've taken their meds and showered, take them to pay their bills (many find it difficult to deal with money or get on a bus alone and we're often the only support system for them which is really sad! one guy can't go out his home without us helping him). today i went out with a guy with autism and we just chatted about life, played darts and ate chips. it's really fun and it's always nice to hear feedback on how you impact on their life.
