US Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump to pull £700m of investment from Britain if MPs ban him

A spokesman for Mr Trump said a ban would send a message to the world that the UK opposes free speech, as it emerged that Muslim, Labour Members of Parliament were leading the charge to have Mr. Trump banned.

On Tuesday a House of Commons committee announced that Parliament will debate later this month a petition calling for Mr Trump to be barred entry to the UK. The petition was launched by a long-standing anti-Trump activist in Scotland following remarks made by Mr Trump in which he called for a moratorium on Muslims entering the U.S. until the threat of Islamic extremism is better understood, The Telegraph has reported.

In response, The Trump Organisation has issued a statement detailing plans for a £200 million investment in their Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire, and a further £500 million in Trump International Golf Links near Aberdeen, warning that any moves to block Mr Trump from travelling to the UK would “immediately end these and all future investments we are currently contemplating in the United Kingdom”.

The statement continued: “Westminster would create a dangerous precedent and send a terrible message to the world that the United Kingdom opposes free speech and has no interest in attracting inward investment.

“This would also alienate the many millions of United States citizens who wholeheartedly support Mr Trump and have made him the forerunner by far in the 2016 presidential election.

“Many people now agree with Mr Trump that there is a serious problem that must be resolved. This can only be achieved if we are willing discuss these tough issues openly and honestly.”
I love Trump because he'll give it back to anyone who gives it to him. He's got backbone which is what the US needs after Obama.

Personally if I were Trump I would have already pulled money out of Scotland seeing as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon called for him to be banned from the country. That's a loss of £700m thanks to you Nicola you witch because you can't stomach the fact people have a different opinion from you.

Speaking of Scotland and Sturgeon, anyone remember a few months back when Nicola Sturgeon stuck her beak into the refugee crisis and pledged that she'd take in a family of refugees into her own house. Because she's so kind ya see. Well we're still waiting for some to move in with her.

    Thoughts?

He's not going to be banned from the country, it's just a bunch of Corbynites getting uppity on social media as usual. The whole e-petition process has been massively abused by people who don't understand how politics works (like the idiots who thought that saying they don't like David Cameron will actually spark a vote of no confidence even though literally everyone in the world knows that not everyone voted for him) and Sturgeon is just showing her lack of political finesse in taking up arms with the great unwashed. You can't ban someone from a country for being an idiot; if you could then all these champagne socialists voting on their iPads would be out of here tomorrow

Seriously? If he owns them already then I imagine they're a pretty good standard as it stands. I can't see how he could invest £350m into a single golf course... and expect to make a return on his money.

Good on him. He should not be (and will not be) banned for making a statement. The people who voted in that petition are idiots.

Nicola Sturgeon is also an idiot (oh gosh, Scotland better ban me!) who is just wasting Englands money to make Scotland happy. £1500 grants for all those affected by floods in Scotland yet English councils can only afford £500? Yeah ok.
