There's something about the tonalities of desk that are making me a little puzzled. Try to paint the shaded side with a darker color, it might help give a better sense of depth on it
To prevent the Gothic office chair from being very similar with the dinner chair, why not to put something that characterizes the office chairs, like the arm support (i dunno its name in English) around it
