Default Australian Government announces plans for lifetime bans on illegal asylum seekers

Australia plans to ban refugees who attempt to arrive by boat

    Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull

The proposal will be put to parliament this week, and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said it would send the "strongest possible signal" to people-smugglers.

At the moment, Australia takes asylum seekers who arrive by boat to off-shore processing centres in Nauru and Manus Island in Papua New Guinea.

Even if they are found to be genuine refugees, they cannot be resettled in Australia - they can either return home, resettle in Manus or Nauru, or go to a different country.

Mr Turnbull said: "This is a battle of will between the Australian people, represented by its government, and the criminal gangs of people-smugglers.

"These people-smugglers are the worst criminals imaginable. They have a multibillion-dollar business. We have to be very determined to say no to their criminal plans."

The opposition says it is yet to decide whether to back or oppose the new law.
Yet again the Australians lead the way in common sense and putting their own country first. European countries take note.

Not a fan of Malcolm Turnbull like I was Tony Abbott but +1 for this move if it goes into law.

I have no issues with refugees who follow correct channels to reach a location of safety, however what I do not agree with is travelling through many other safe countries and not settling there. I will also add I think Malcolm Turnbull is an absolute turd of a Prime Minister and his governments stance on both public transport and technology in Australia are appalling.

Indeed, the fact is that many people are abusing the true meaning of a refugee and using it to justify illegal immigration.
