Do friends come to you for advice?

I have one friend who used to come to me for advice when he was arguing all the time with his girlfriend, and once I asked him why he came to me for advice when I had/have never been in a relationship and he said because I say it like it is and won't moderate it.

I guess he was looking for a straight answer.

Mostly people come to me to "vent" rather than ask for advice. But advice is what they get because I can't be bothered with fake sympathy and I don't want to hear complaints constantly with no intent to resolve it.
