The Joker is one of the comic book world's most popular villains.
There have been a total of 7 actors who have portrayed The Joker, and all his fans have their favourite ones.

Personally, I don't think anybody could beat Heath Ledger's Joker...
(Although Jared Leto comes a close second for his extreme sexiness *drools*)
Some would certainly agree, but many prefer Jack Nicholson's 1989 portrayal; as he is seen as the "original" Joker.
It's a misconception however, as Caeser Romero was the first actor to portray The Joker in a series from the 60s!

Heath Ledger was hands down the best Joker performance to date
I might be biased because I was about 16 when his Joker performance came out and that's back when all the superhero type films began getting ridiculously good with their GCI etc (and of course it was the start of Marvel, with Ironman) So naturally I associate Heath Ledger to being one of the first to really kick start the type of superhero films we have today and honestly I don't think his performance has been matched by anyone as of yet!

I find Jack Nicholson's laugh more frightening and sarcastic, for me he's the best !!.
